At this time three years ago, Alabama Crimson Tide fans wondered if the newly hired head coach Nick Saban could live to the hype and money that was put around him.

Little did these fans know that in a short amount of time that Saban would hold the first National Championship trophy in seventeen years.

Now as Saban has said so many times before "Whats done is done and you can not reflect on the past." How this one man could change the lives of so many coaches, players, and fans is still hard to figure out.

We as fans and observers of the great state of Alabama owe Saban a thanks. He gave the Crimson Tide back their dignity, pride, and most importantly their bragging rights.

We owe this gamechanger a thanks for letting us know that this is not the end but only the beginning.

Going into his fourth season as head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Saban has already got a better resume than any candidate running for Alabama Governor or anybody thinking of running for president next term. Saban was called the most powerful man in college football by Forbes Magazine.

He is one of the highest payed coaches in college football, and surprisingly is feeling in the shoes Paul Bryant left us with in 1982.

Saban is a hero for what he has done for Alabama in the past three seasons, but as Babe Ruth said in the 1960's based film The Sandlot, " Heroes get remembered, but legends never die." That is a statement that can best describe the difference between Nick Saban and Paul "Bear" Bryant.

Now Saban does beat Bryant publicity wise. Before 2010, Alabama fans had to watch ESPN 24/7 just hear them say the word "Alabama Football." Now you can watch ESPN for five minutes and hear those sacred words.

In the past two years Saban has been featured in the movie Blindside, a true story based on the life of Michael Oher. He was one of the few coaches who got to film a college gameday commercial with Kirk Herbstreit. Along with special features on ESPNU such as Rolling Tide: Training Days of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

If this is not enough for you then you can hit selected theaters on August 27th to see his new movie The Gamechanger.

As time moves closer for the opening kick-off of the 2010 season the pressure builds has the hype grows. With Saban being the only BCS coach to win two National Championships at two different schools, expectation are going to be high.

With an inexperienced defense and a loaded offense, it is going to be hard to predict the final outcome of the season. No matter what happens Saban has changed the way Alabama fans will think or act forever.

This man has put hard work, dedication and toughness in Tuscaloosa.

So where did this man get his knowledge of the game of football. Well you can't point fingers at one particular person, but what you can do is remember how you felt about the team before Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa.

This hero not only changed the lives of his players, coaches, and fans, he also expanded the rich tradition of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Saban will not only be remembered as a hero, but he will forever be known as the Gamechanger.
