Champions of The Round Table

Cade Foster could very well be the next superstar for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Foster is from Southlake Carroll High School, the same place Greg McElroy played ball, and it's pretty safe to say that Cade is just as effective at kicking the football as McElroy is at passing it.

Cade Foster is not your average kicker. Most NCAA kickers are under 6' tall and
weigh less than 190 lbs.

Foster is 6'2" and weighs 220 lbs. Why so much larger? Well, he played both sides of the ball in high school. That's right, the kicker doubled as a middle linebacker, the same position as Brian Urlacher of the Chicago Bears.

I can not get enough of this kid's recruitment video. He is an absolute monster.

Although he probably won't be seeing any playing time on defense, I don't think the coaches will have him slim down any.

When you have an extra guy on special teams who can deliver a hit like this guy, that's an advantage you want to keep.

Cade was true from 45 yards on three separate occasions as a freshman, and booted one from 49 yards out his senior year.

Foster runs a 4.60 40, bench presses 370 lbs., was a first team All-District kicker in 2006 and 2007, All-State kicker 2009, has countless awards and honorable mentions, and totaled more than 270 points.

Leigh Tiffin is gone, and will soon be forgotten. Cade Foster has the superstar quality, and I believe he will, without a doubt, break all Alabama kicking records.

Foster's phenomenal leg also earned him a 70 percent touchback rating in high school.

I understand that this is no longer high school, and Cade is going to be playing among some of the finest athletes in the country in the SEC.

I am sure the first time you see him lay the wood to some poor soul who foolishly decided to bring one out, you will agree.

Cade Foster will be one of the great ones at the
University of Alabama.

Signing off and Roll Tide,

I guess only time will tell if he is a "superstar" or not. Now, last time I checked it was the same distance field that college players play on....70% touchbacks is pretty good. There's not much "pressure" to kick the ball that far, except for butterflies in your stomach the first few times you tee it up.
Where he would become the hero is kickng 49 yard field goals in a hostile enviroment. Then you could call him a star. But that's neither here nor there at this point. Best of luck to him and the other guys who will be called on to be outstanding players on this team.
